Although my hives are built to the specifications of Abbé Warré,
they incorporate some changes and improvements which are
explained at the page labeled My Hives. Specifics of my design
update are given for each of the components of the Warré
system.
Boxes and Bars deals with the nature of top bar hives, of which the Warré is only one example.
There is also information about frames available for Warré hive boxes. The most innovative feature of
theWarré design, its system to control temperature and moisture, is explained on the page The Roof.
The Warré roof system is available in the original configuration and a more durable modern update.
The plague of Varroa mites from China is a threat which was unknown in Abbé Warré's day. How my
hives modify the original design to allow modern treatment of these mites is explained on The Stand.
